With the 2012-13 school year back in session, the Gull Lake School Board’s monthly meeting is a time for discussion and district action. The September meeting’s focus was directly on teacher resignations and hirings. Lindsay Stoetzel, Fran Bean, Mike Omness and Lisa Wentland were few of the many teachers who were recognized for their decision to leave Gull Lake Community Schools.
While the board discussed their resignations and established a plan for refilling their positions, many teachers were introduced. Tonya Bertolino, Stacy Robbins, Kay Fitzsimmons, Courtney Vogl and Rebecca Calvert were among the new faces the Gull Lake Community Schools will see for the next year.
President of the School Board, Jill Adamski, spoke about the additions this year.
“We are thrilled to have added nearly 20 new teachers this year,” Adamski said. “We think it is a great opportunity to improve our school district.”
The board will meet again in October to discuss the progress of these hirings and go over any new areas of importance to the district.
