On Tuesday, December 11, the Gull Lake boys’ basketball team traveled to Middleville Thornapple-Kellogg. The Blue Devils started out the season 0-2 and needed a win to get them on the right track. After tough losses to both Marshall and Lakeview, Gull Lake was eager for the Thornapple-Kellogg game. Being a bigger school and team, the Blue Devils were confident in their chances of winning.
“We went out and crushed them. We all played really well from the start,” junior forward Jeremiah Mansfield said after the game.
For the third consecutive game, Dean Kolstad led the Blue Devils with 31 points, followed by Cooper Quartermaine with 12 points and Odell Miller with 11. Eleven of Gull Lake’s 15 players scored in the game. The Blue Devils went on to win 87-58.
Gull Lake takes on Battle Creek Central at home on Friday, December 14. A win over Battle Creek Central would turn around their season after a slow start.
