Fandango, found right in the middle of the Kalamazoo Mall, is not your average restaurant. It is known as a “tappas bar,” which means they don’t serve full course meals but smaller portions and appetizers.
The style they serve their food in is also unique. Multiple plates can be found on every table with the assumption that everyone will share their food. If you finish your food and decide it is not enough, you can order more at any point during your meal.
Because of its location, this restaurant is always lively and full of people. Fandango is so popular that it is often hard to get a table without a wait and it tends to feel a little crowded. The windows are tinted so that pedestrians can not see in, making for a private and intimate dining environment. However, the atmosphere is fun because of all the hustle and bustle and the food is amazing.
By sharing your meal, you get the chance to try all different types of food from the menu. Most of the food is Mexican because it is a Mexican restaurant, but there are other options to choose from. Everything that we have sampled there has been wonderful, especially the dessert. They have an assortment of cheesecakes with delicious toppings. While scanning the menu, we would advise not to be shy and not to be afraid of trying things even if you do not know what they are because it is likely that everything will be extremely tasty.
Although the food is worth it, the restaurant is slightly more expensive than other restaurants in the area. Also, it is truly a unique place and is not similar to any Mexican restaurant that we have ever been to.
