Gull Lake boys basketball falls to 3-3

Coming off a big win against Battle Creek Central, Gull Lake was looking to keep their three game win streak going with a win at Sturgis on Friday, January 4.  The guys went into the game looking to walk away with a solid win.

“We came into the game really confident.  We didn’t play the way we should’ve in order to win,” junior team member Mikhale Tustin said after Friday’s game.

The game was tied at 29 after the first half, but the Blue Devils were not able to hang with Sturgis and fell short, losing a three point game 54-57.  Gull Lake was led by Dean Kolstad with 15 points, followed by Odell Miller with 10.  Sturgis was led by junior center Chance Stewart, who ended the game with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The Blue Devils take on Portage Central on Tuesday, January 8 at Portage Central.  A win for Gull Lake could put them back on track to start a run as the season progresses.
