Grand Rapids Comic-Con is coming up soon. This convention is not just for nerds. Tommy Fitzgerald is head of Kitchen Sage, which teaches culinary skills for the inner city children of Grand Rapids, and he’ll be teaching how to make simple snack foods and answering questions about Kitchen Sage. There’s also a tea party at 5 p.m. with different types of tea and a string quartet playing famous sci-fi and fantasy music.

The convention’s main genres include: anime, collectables, comic books, films, gaming, sci-fi and steam punk. All individuals who are interested in any of these topics, you should prepare for the event in advance. The convention may only be $5, but extra purchases can be made on various collectables offered by the vendors. For more information, visit Grand Rapids Comic-Con website at: http://grcomiccon.com/.

There will be seminars by Arvell Jones, who has done pencil work for Thor, Daredevil, Iron Man, and the Avengers, and Jon Alderink, who is a digital colorer for DC comics.

Please be sure to check out Grand Rapids Comic-Con this year. It’s sure to be a ton of fun. The convention is this Saturday, October 12 in Wyoming, Michigan.
