After seven long months of golf at Gull Lake Country Club, the course will close its doors for the season on one of the most successful seasons financially the course has seen in many years. Along with financial success, it grew in popularity, hosting an array of golf events.
The Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) junior and senior invitationals were held at the course, giving Michiganders from all over the map an opportunity to experience the course. Along with GAM, the club also hosted multiple golf outings. The Kalamazoo Borgess Hospital Outing and the CLS outing gave hundreds more this same opportunity.
Assistant course professional, Daniel Evans, said he believed that opening the course up to so many golfers this season contributed to its successful.
“We gave golfers, other than our members, a chance to see what we have to offer,” said Evans. “A lot of guys were impressed with us, and this good reputation will help us in the long run.”
As the doors close, a new season is blossoming, and GLCC hopes to see this same success in years to come.
