The JV team played against Caledonia on November, 28. It was anybody’s game, but the Blue Devils made a comeback and won 53-30.

In the first quarter, Caledonia’s offense opened strong, and Gull Lake’s defense struggled to keep up.

“We were working hard, but we were just making simple mistakes,” said Gabby Bennecke, sophomore shooting guard.

The second quarter was back and forth. Neither team could manage to get ahead by much.

At halftime the score was tied.

“I was kind of worried, but I knew we still had a half to go so it wasn’t the end of the world,” Bennecke said.

Third quarter started to look up for Gull Lake. The team made more of shots and got more offensive rebounds. The defense started to improve.

The last quarter Gull Lake pulled ahead and continued its aggressive offensive with rebounds.

JV’s next game will be at Olivet Friday, December 1 at 5:45 p.m.
