Advanced Placement exam registration comes to close

0 votes

It’s that time of year again for registering for AP (Advanced Placement) exams. The AP exam test dates will be in May and allow the student the opportunity to get college credits for their classes.

The way the AP. Exam works is that students go to off-site campus to take the exam. The college board then grades the exam on a grading scale of a one to five, a five being the best and a one being the worst. Students must receive a specific score on each test to get college credit or wave college classes.

Students do not have to take the exam; however, it is highly recommended. By Friday, February 23, students must turn in a green registration form that states the exam, or exams, the student plans to take and the students information. The cost for the exam is $94  and a $25 deposit is required when registering.

Librarian Betsy Bergeron is collecting the AP. Exam forms in the media center.

“I recommend taking the AP Exam,” Bergeron said. “It’s a lot cheaper to take the exam for $94 than to pay for the class and the books in college. About 80 students have signed up for testing so far, and forms can be turned in until 2:00 pm Friday in the media center.”
