Golf tryouts approach

The tryouts for the boys’ golf team will be held March 12 to 14 at Stonehedge North. The tryouts are a three day process where players will be evaluated on their scores from a 9 hole round.

“Tryouts are always nerve wracking because a lot of times you can’t be playing outside beforehand to prepare,” Manuszak said.

There are six varsity slots and around six junior varsity spots.

“Usually people move around between the two depending on how people are playing and in case any injuries occur,” Manuszak said.

Manuszak said he is very excited for the upcoming season.

“I can’t wait for it to warm up so I can tee up some Titleist balls and drive them straight onto the green,” he said.

The current cover of snow on the course could mean trouble for tryouts. However, no sheet of snow has ever caused trouble for the savvy golf team.
