A new eSports club has been approved by principal Don Eastman at Gull Lake High School. eSports is a term used to refer to team based competitive video gaming. The new team is lead and founded by sophomore Stephen Lin.

“I was thinking of making a club, where we can actually practice together,” Lin said.

The current plan for the club is to have meetings at school, according to Lin, with no day selected for the first meeting yet, where they will be discussing topics like strategy and team competitions. He says they plan to play the games at home, so that potential member won’t have to bring their expensive equipment to school or buy the equipment to play at school.

The current game they intend to play is primarily Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, or CS:GO for short, with potential to play League of Legends and other games later on if enough members join. The club is planned to join into a high school level tournament later this year.
