‘Starve a Vampire’ Blood Drive

0 votes

This year, Gull Lake High School has a new Halloween activity — donating blood. Michigan Blood hosts two blood drives a school year at Gull Lake, one in the spring and one in the fall. This year’s blood drive is particularly special due to the Halloween theme. The day before the drive, everyone that signed up to donate received a Halloween goodie bag with a small bottled water and other treats. Once at the blood drive, all donors get a free “Starve a Vampire” t-shirt.

The Auxiliary Gym is full of Halloween spirit with decorative pumpkins, music, and free ‘Starve a Vampire’ t-shirts.

Belz, Vice President of the Student Senate, was running the check-in table at 7:30 this morning and has been at every blood drive since her freshman year.

“The Blood Drive is required in Student Senate, but it’s also an event I really enjoy doing because you can see a direct impact,” said Belz.

The blood drive starts at 7:30 a.m. and sign ups go until 1 p.m.

This is my senior year at Gull Lake High school, and my second year apart of The Reflection staff.  This year I am the feature/entertainment editor, and I am looking forward to see where my writing can take me.
