On Google Reviews, the chain has 1214 written reviews that add to up to a total of 4.4 stars at all six of their locations. Specifically, their most popular restaurant on Portage road has 4.4 stars with 406 reviews.

On a written review from December 19, Karen Clapp wrote to the Portage location “Love Taco Bob’s. We cater it in at work too. A good taco when in a hurry or sitting in their restaurant. Nice staff too. Several locations. Not fancy and affordable.”

I visited and ate at the location on Portage Street, which is their most popular right off the highway. The restaurant was not that easy to find at night, but I was also not familiar with that area. The downside was the sign was not lit up, in the daylight, I would have been fine finding it with how big the sign is.

Once I got to the restaurant, it was very welcoming and comfortable. I got welcomed with a kind greeting and straight away the waitress was ready to take my order. I was not sure what to order since I have never been there before, so I asked her and right away she said the funny taco.

Taco Bob’s is widely known around this area for its funny taco. The funny taco is a hard shell taco wrapped in a soft warm taco with nacho cheese between the two shells. You get your choice of meat between beef or chicken. They also have other Tex-Mex options like burritos, quesadillas, nachos and tostadas. They also do catering, with choices of a taco bar, wet burrito bar, bean dip, cookies and drinks.

I ordered the combo meal with the chicken funny taco, which comes with two funny tacos, Nachos, Spanish rice, pinto beans and a drink. I also had to get a signature house-made sauce, in which I got the Regular hot sauce and mild sauce.

The place was quite busy for it being 7 at night, but that did not matter the food came out hot within three minutes. It looked so good, everything was portioned just right. I went right to the funny taco to understand the hype. I loved it! It was so good the nacho cheese in between the hard shell and soft shell really pulled it together. The signature hot sauce was amazing, and it was not too hot. But if you like it hot there are options such as the inferno and extreme sauce. The Spanish rice and beans were awesome as well. By the end of eating, I was full and happy.

Overall Taco Bob’s has a great comfortable environment to sit down and enjoy a great quick meal. The people are awesome there, very respectful and super helpful. The food was amazing, I would totally recommend Taco Bob’s to my friends and family.
