When everyone is home all day due to the Coronavirus, watching YouTube videos is a great site to help pass the time. During the pandemic, 64 percent of YouTube users state that they are watching YouTube content “significantly more” says Statistica. It’s enormously popular with two billion users worldwide. People watch one billion hours of youtube per day. On average, there are 500 hours of YouTube videos uploaded per minute.
1The top trending video today is the “Rain on Me” music video. “Rain on Me” is a pop song by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. The music video has gotten over 40 million views in only two days. With 2.2 million likes and only 139 thousand dislikes. This music video will probably be top on the billboard for a while, and it’s a super good song with an uplifting beat. Gaga’s and Grande’s voices together make a beautiful duo. Click here to hear it.
2 Another trending video at the time is another music video for the song “Candy” by Baekhyun. After doing a little research, I found that this is a Kpop song. Kpop is a very popular music genre that originated in South Korea. I don’t listen to Kpop, almost ever but this song is actually pretty good. The singer’s voice is very smooth, and the beat makes me want to get up and dance. Give it a listen here.
3This next video isn’t a music video– it is The Past We Can Never Return To – The Anthropocene Reviewed. This video was more of an educational video, talking about the Lascaux cave and the many paintings and hand stencils that there are in the cave. The drawing are over 20,000 years old, and interestingly it’s a truly a touching video to see the work on the walls. I would recommend it. Click here for the to see it.
4The next trending video on Youtube is actually a makeup tutorial video. This video is #5 on trending with Jaclyn Hill teaching how to draw a subtle cat eye, I personally don’t watch many makeup videos because I don’t wear makeup, but if you are someone who enjoys makeup tutorials, I would recommend her video. Even though I have never tried to put on a full face of makeup before, I feel like after watching that video, I would be able to pull off the look. She’s very precise on what she’s saying, and she just gives off a good vibe. She has a nice sense of humor, and one could tell she makes her videos for her views benefit, not her own. She has her own makeup palettes and brushes, so she definitely knows what she’s doing. Check out her video here and get the tips.
YouTube has so much content that suits every person. Weather is video game streams, makeup tutorials, music videos, vlogs, how-to videos, anything. YouTube has it.
