GLHS kicks off homecoming week festivities

Over the past year and a half, students have expressed complaints regarding the cancelation of multiple dances due to covid. Finally, the covid pandemic has slowed down enough for Gull Lake to hold its first (mostly) traditional HOCO season.

Spirit Week will be held the week of September 27. Students can express their appreciation and excitement through the five daily themes:

  • PJ Day, Monday
  • Tacky Tourist, Tuesday
  • USA/Patriotic Day, Wednesday
  • Jersey/Sports Day, Thursday
  • GL Spirit Wear, Friday

The parade will be held on October 1 before the football game. Floats will arrive between 3 and 5 p.m. Parade participants must be in Village park by 5 p.m. The Gull Lake vs. Otsego game will kickoff at 7 p.m. on the same day.

Saturday, October 2, high school students will finally be attending the HOCO dance they’ve been asking for. From 7 to 10 p.m. students will gather on the football field for the GLHS Under the Lights dance. No heels or food is permitted on the football field.

Tickets are available from the 27 to October 1 at lunch for $20 per person or free for anyone with free or reduced lunch. See Mr. Reggie Walters about free tickets and guest passes. The rain date for the dance is October 9 although refunds are available.
